Artist Statement

I walk the cold streets of Montreal with my camera as a companion. In the quiet crackle of snow, in a subway platform’s dim light, in reflections, in strangers’ glances, I search for breath, for absence, for connection. Black and white is not simply a choice of tone: it’s a language of contrasts, of light and void, of intimacy and distance.

My work moves in two currents. In Solitude, I linger in empty benches, silhouettes under shadows, echoes of footsteps that vanish. In Love, I witness proximity: subtle touches, shared glances, laughter cut by silhouette, a hand on an arm, the quiet pulse de los encuentros. These themes are not exclusives, but twin passages in my journey as observer.

My practice is modest but deliberate: I carry no flash, I avoid staging; I follow light and moment. Though my roots are elsewhere, Montreal is my canvas. And while I shoot mostly here, I remain open to other cities, since solitude and love are universal.

Some of my images have been published by Instagram pages that curate street photography, helping to extend the reach of my voice. My photographs have also been recognized in contests, not always for street scenes alone, nor always in monochrome, but each acknowledgment affirms what I chase: authenticity, emotion, the photograph that stops time for a heartbeat.

“Light finds the corners our voices cannot reach.”
